The 12th edition of FrieslandCampina WAMCO’s annual sports tournament, FCWAMCO Games, kicked off on Saturday at the Agege Stadium in Lagos. The ceremony opened Champions League-style with Team Peak vs. Team IFT debut football match.
Team Peak won the exciting match 4-2.
The tournament, scheduled to end on November 25, 2017, will feature four teams in knockout clashes, an array of other outdoor and indoor games including Table tennis, Volley ball, Chess, Scrabble etc, after which the 2017 champions will emerge.
The Managing Director, FrieslandCampina WAMCO, Ben Langat, in his speech at the kickoff said, “The essence of FCWAMCO Games is to create a fun occasion and a chance to engage as an organisation. It is also a platform to improve our health since a healthy workforce makes a healthy organisation; as well as to enhance our competitive mind-set in line with our vision to Lead, Fight and Inspire.â€
FCWAMCO Games have evolved from being just a football competition to a bouquet of sports encouraging healthy competition and bonding of employees across all levels.
The Games commemorate the company’s goal of inspiring employees to take ownership of its corporate values as well as providing an inclusive platform that supports fair play.
