The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has inaugurated a 24-hour emergency clinic to cater for health concerns in order to ensure effective implementation of the Executive Order on the ease of doing business at ports. The Managing Director of the NPA, Hadiza Bala-Usman, who declared open the clinic located at Apapa Port Complex (LPC) for operations assured stakeholders that the NPA management would not relent in its firm resolve at bringing dividends of good governance and administration to the ports community at large.
She said the establishment of the clinic was in consonance with the organisation’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) policy as well as a commitment to excellence on the side of the organisation’s workforce.
She told stakeholders that optimal attention is paid by the NPA management to their health challenges which is expected to lead to greater efficiency and revenue generation for the nation. A healthy nation, she stated, is a wealthy nation.
The NPA boss added that the NPA management would strive to achieve the utilisation of appreciable level of modern applications and equipment at the clinic in other to keep up with current global trends in health matters.
Bala-Usman therefore appealed to port users to avail themselves of the facility adding that, â€we have to sustain this efforts subsequently.â€
Furthermore, the NPA boss told stakeholders, that it is for the reason of prompt response to casualties, the clinic was conceptualised, noting that matters concerning safety and sound mind of port users were paramount in the operational thrust of the NPA management.
She emphasised and challenged staff to contribute most meaningfully and relevantly towards making the NPA a model agency.
Stakeholders at the event jointly commended the management equally for exemplary and competent qualities as exhibited across board.
They assured the NPA management of collaboration and synergy when required.
