Lawal: Fayose’s Continuity Moves Not Self-serving

By Victor Ogunje in Ado Ekiti
A former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Sikiru Lawal, has advised the people of the state not to perceive the continuity being  canvassed by Governor Ayodele Fayose as a self-serving political move.
Lawal, a governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said allowing the party to continue to govern the state beyond 2018 will stabilise Ekiti and expedite  development as being experienced in Lagos State.
He boasted that the APC would suffer its worst political defeat in 2018, hinging this on the sterling performances of Governor Fayose in all areas of economic facets since he mounted the saddle in 2014.
The former deputy governor, who spoke on Wednesday while addressing some party members in Ado Ekiti Ward 9 in furtherance of a programme tagged: “On Continuity We Stand‘, advised all the party members to display loyalty to the governor, who is now in court to challenge his impeachment in 2006.
The former number two man  reiterated his belief in continuity and said the governor had approached the court to seek for permission to re-contest on account of his  impeachment in 2006, which abruptly terminated his tenure.
