Flowstation Host Communities of Nigeria (FLOWHOSCON) saturday hailed the National Assembly (NASS) for the passage of Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) into Law.

The Senate, last Thursday, broke the 10 years jinx by passing into law the age long Petroleum Industry Governance Bill.

The PIB is a bill to establish the legal and regulatory authorities for the Nigerian Petroleum Industry.

In Warri, Delta State, reacting to the Passage of the PIB by the Senate on behalf of Flow Stations /Well Head Host Communities of Nigeria, Comrade Sheriff Mulade described it as a welcome development.

According to Mulade, “We wish to commend the National Assembly (NASS) for the Passage of the PIB into Law. This is a welcome development and it’s passage now will give a sense of belonging to all stakeholders in the Industry. The industry definitely needs PIB to give it a framework for stakeholders who play in oil and gas industry”, the FLOWHOSCON President said.

Mulade noted that it was quite unfortunate that the Passage of the bill was delayed for more than 10 years, due to what he described as dirty politics and vested interest, and lauded the NASS for finally passing the bill into Law.
