Three Female Suicide Bombers Die in Foiled Attack on Maiduguri

In another foiled attack on Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, on Tuesday evening, three female suicide bombers killed themselves by detonating the explosives strapped on them when security operatives tried to apprehend them. 
Confirming the suicide attack on Mamanti Village in Molai area of Maiduguri, the spokesman of the Borno State Police Command, DSP Victor Isuku, said the three female suicide bombers suspected to have been conveyed by motorcycle and dropped at a distance to Mamanti Village in Molai area were sighted and intercepted by vigilant security operatives.
He said: “Today (Tuesday) at about 1755hrs, three female suicide bombers, suspected to have been conveyed by motorcycle and dropped at a distance to Mamanti village in Molai area, were sighted and intercepted by vigilant security operatives.
“In the process, they hurriedly detonated IED strapped to their bodies, killing themselves only. There was no civilian casualty recorded.
“Police EOD teams were promptly drafted to the scene to sanitise the area, and restore normalcy.”
