The Niger State Ministry of Sports Development has dissolved all the 28 sporting associations in the state. The associations were also directed to conduct elections into the bodies before March 15.
The dissolution of the association followed the expiration of the three year mandate given to them in 2014.
The dissolution letter was signed by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Hajia Ramatu Sulaiman , who also acknowledged the contributions of the associations to the growth and development of sports in the state in the last three years.
Public Relations officer in the ministry, Mr Isaiah P Fred, who confirmed the story said the ministry would ensure that the associations followed laid down guidelines in the election of their officials.
