Kwara Assembly Summons MTN over Wrong ‎Mast Installation

The Kwara State House of Assembly at the weekend summoned one of the telecommunication giants in the country, MTN Communication, to appear before its Committee on Public Petition over alleged wrong installation of its mast at Budo Egba, Judges Quarters’ road Tanke, Ilorin.

The summon of the telecommunication firm by the lawmakers was based on the petition by one of the residents of the area, Chief Oladele Olanrewaju, through his counsel, Teju Oguntoye, written on 13th February, 2017 and submitted to the committee on Public Petition of the assembly.

The chairman of the committee, Hon. Adebayo Mohammed, who presided over the sitting, expressed displeasure over the non-appearance of the telecommunication outfit at its sitting, in spite of the House’s formal letter of invitation to it dated 17th February, 2017.

The chairman, who said the House would give fair hearing to all parties concerned before taking a definite position, urged MTN and other stakeholders to attend the rescheduled meeting slated for Friday, 3rd March, 2017.
