This is What the New Toyota Supra Could Look Like

It’s no secret that a brand new Toyota sports car, almost certainly called the Supra, will make its debut in the near future, but exactly when it will arrive and how it will look are still unknown.

Working with digital artist Tobias Büttner, this is what AutoGuide.com believes the Supra’s successor will look like, drawing inspiration from the FT-1 Concept.

Spy photographers have recently caught what appears to be the production design of the Supra testing, giving us an idea of the proportions and size for the upcoming sports car. Expect a sweeping body with attractive curves, while up front large air intakes will help keep whatever powerplant nice and cool. The two strongest powerplant rumors suggest that either a turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine from BMW or a turbocharged V6 from Lexus will provide motivation.

The prototype Toyota has been testing is heavily camouflaged, but the latest spy photos give a hint at what the rear tail light design will be. It’s still unclear when Toyota intends to debut the new Supra, but it will likely come sometime after the new BMW Z5, which will be built on the same platform jointly developed by both automakers.
