Men of the Nigeria Police and operatives of the Department of State Security (DSS) early wednesday stormed the Alfred Diete -Spiff (Sharks) Stadium venue of the National Convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), chased everybody away and sealed the place.
Although the police and the DSS have not issued any official statements on reasons for the action, a policeman, who would not wish to be named, said they were sent by the Inspector General of Police to enforce the order of an Abuja High Court stopping the PDP national Convention.
As at the time of filing this report, all access to the venue has been cordoned off by security operatives and armored personnel carriers as well as other police vehicles.
