As Nigerians continue to struggle with the harsh economic climate that has greeted President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, a group, Concerned Northern Patriots, on ‎Thursday expressed optimism that other budgetary expenditure in the course of the year will go a long way to reflate the troubled economy.

The Chairman of the group, Alhaji Muhammadu Gwaska‎, made this known in a communique issued at the end of its consultative meeting held in Abuja, where he said the meeting was geared towards reviewing the recent developments affecting the president, his government and the nation at large.

He noted that while Nigerians expected the president‎ to hit the ground running upon assumption of office, it later became clear that Buhari had underestimated the rot he met on ground.

Gwaska‎ stressed that it has been noticed that in spite of massive interventions and good intentions by the president, attacks have recently been mounted on Buhari’s government and his appointees particularly the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai, and Lt-Gen. Dambazau (rtd.) by the opposition, media houses and social media.
