By Chiemelie Ezeobi

The Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos State Police Command on Sunday arrested seven hoodlums at the Ejigbo area and two pickpockets at the Mile 2/Maryland axis.

While the seven suspects were arrested in a street fight, the two other pickpockets were picked up after they had successfully removed three phones from commuters in different Bus Transit Rapid (BRT) buses.

THISDAY gathered that the fight was between two opposing factions known as Agbole boys and Coker boys, who unleashed mayhem beside the NNPC jetty at Ejigbo.

Operatives of the RRS were called in and they arrested the feuding groups and have since transfered to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID).

Meanwhile, the two pickpockets identified as 24-year-old Taoreed Ashimiyu, and 34-year-old Kayode Jolaade, were caught in the act by RRS operatives.

Taoreed, who hails from Yemetu, Alawada in Oyo state, said he spent the proceeds from stealing on prostitutes.

He said, “I have not spent a dime from my proceeds in stealing on anything tangible. I womanise a lot and I spent my money on both young and old ladies.
I used some to smoke Indian hemp and drink all sorts of hard drinks.”
