Women in Business Trade Fair Opens in Abuja with 165 Exhibitors

The 2026 edition of the Women in Business (WIB) Trade Fair has opened at Eagle Square, Abuja, with more than 165 vendors participating in the four-day exhibition.

The fair, organised by OKADS Seafood and More, runs from November 5 to 8 and provides a platform for women entrepreneurs and other small business owners to showcase their products, attract customers and establish business networks.

The convener and Chief Executive Officer of OKADS Seafood and More, Ebiere Empere, said the event had attracted exhibitors from Abuja and neighbouring states, creating opportunities for businesses to reach new markets.

She said the organisers expected this year’s edition to build on the participation recorded at the previous fair, which was held at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

Empere said at least 50 local market women had been provided with free exhibition stands to encourage grassroots participation and support small businesses.

The exhibition features a shopping section, traditional village market, service centre, entertainment area and a children’s zone.

Declaring the fair open, the Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission Liaison Office in Abuja, Mary Naweke Efekhoba, said women entrepreneurs played an important role in economic development and urged exhibitors and buyers to use the platform to promote their products and explore business opportunities.

She said the fair offered vendors an opportunity to showcase new products, attract customers and offer special discounts.

Representatives of sponsors and partners, including United Nigeria Airlines, LAPO Microfinance Bank, the Nigeria Revenue Service, Maltina and Regent Microfinance Bank, were among those present at the opening ceremony.

The organisers said the 2026 edition was designed to promote collaboration among women in business and provide opportunities for entrepreneurs to expand their customer base.
