The twelfth edition of the praise and worship gathering, Power of Praise (POP), will begin at 12 noon on November 7th, 2026.
Senior Pastor, Trinity House, and host of the event, Pastor Ituah Ighodalo, disclosed this at a press conference which held at the church auditorium in Lagos, yesterday.
POP is a non-denominational gathering of christians hosted by Trinity House with this twelfth edition themed “The Spirit of the Almighty” and would run on a 24-hour stretch to close at 12 noon on November 8, 2026.
With a line up of over 20 Nigerian and international artistes, POP 24 promises an atmosphere of intimate worship for participants.
Ighodalo explained that the annual gathering was inspired by a conscious decision to acknowledge and celebrate God’s manifold goodness to mankind.
”We have a deep and sincere relationship with God, myself personally, and most of us in Trinity House and we want to serve God genuinely in spirit and in truth. Some time ago, it occurred to us that God does not ask anything of man than for man to do right by himself so that man can succeed and for man to acknowledge him as the giver of all.
”And a lot of the time, people come to church or come to Christ because they’re in trouble, they’re in need, they’re seeking one thing or the other.
”I said to myself, this cannot continue. We serve a God that has done everything for us and provided everything that we need for life and living, and He has made all things possible. We are not worshiping God enough and we therefore decided that we would dedicate at least one day a year together worship God for 24 hours nonstop,” he said.
According to him, by not asking anything from God and just thanking God for all he has done, worshippers are sure to have God intervene in the issues of their lives like he did in the case of the Bible character, Solomon.
Ighodalo also paid tribute to late gospel singer, Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings, saying that the church had concluded plans to have him join other music ministers for this year’s event before his demise. He prayed that God comforts and blesses his family and loved ones as they navigate this phase of their lives.
”May God bless the family of Toluwanisings, his wife, his children, and all that belongs to him, his siblings and his parents, in the name of Jesus Christ,” he said.
Ighodalo also prayed for the families of Christian faithfuls who have also passed that God grant them eternal rest while remembering his late wife, Pastor Ibidunni Olajumoke Ighodalo.
”Today, I remember my wife also, Pastor Mrs. Ibidunni Olajumoke Ituah Ighodalo. I still see her running up and down the whole place. Most or quite a lot of the people who were with us were very special to her.
”She was very special to them, some of whom she also brought forward to be part of what we’re doing. May God continue to comfort us,” he said
In his remark, Chairman, POP 24 Planning Committee, Deji Popoola, stated that as part of preparation for the event, the church with the support of the Lagos state government, has made provisions for security and health emergency facilities to cater for the over 3,000 expected on-site guests at the event.
The event will also be streamed live on YouTube for participants in distant locations in Lagos, Nigeria and across the world on the church’s official yoYouTube handle.
Among artistes confirmed to grace the event are; Pastor Tosin Alao; Chandler Moore; Min. Uchenna Okereke; Ernieola Olusoga; Chigozie Wisdom; Kent Edunjobi; Apekeola; BJ Sax; Bidemi Olaoba; Yinka Alaseyori; Blessing Lopez; Dare
