Ogle Property moves to transform how Nigerians discover Real Estate

Ogle Property, a Nigerian property-technology company, has relaunched its digital platform with a renewed focus on simplifying property discovery and improving connections between property seekers and real estate agents.

The revamped platform is designed to address challenges associated with finding properties in Nigeria, where prospective buyers and tenants often depend on estate agents, personal referrals, social media platforms and WhatsApp groups to access available listings.

Despite the increasing number of properties advertised online, finding suitable accommodation or investment opportunities remains difficult, with prospective customers frequently encountering outdated listings, unavailable properties and limited access to relevant information.

Ogle Property said the new platform would provide a more structured approach to property discovery, enabling users to explore available properties based on their needs while allowing agents to upload listings, showcase their inventory and connect directly with prospective clients.

The relaunch follows the company’s decision to rebuild its previous application from scratch after recording more than 10,000 downloads.

According to the company, experience gathered from the initial application provided useful insights into the behaviour of property seekers and the operational needs of real estate agents, leading to a decision to develop a new product that better addresses market demands.

Speaking on the development, Chief Executive Officer of Ogle Property, Ebun Fatoyinbo, said the experience gained from the first application helped the company identify areas requiring improvement.

“The first version of Ogle gave us something that no amount of internal planning could provide: real interaction with the market. We saw how people searched, what agents needed and where the experience could be better,” Fatoyinbo said.

“After reaching more than 10,000 downloads, we made the decision to rebuild from scratch because we were not interested in simply improving an existing product. We wanted to build the product we believed the market actually needed.”

Fatoyinbo said the decision to rebuild the platform was informed by the company’s desire to provide a more effective solution to the difficulties experienced by property seekers and real estate professionals.

The platform is structured to bridge the gap between property demand and supply by providing users with access to relevant listings while giving agents an opportunity to reach people actively searching for properties.

The company noted that one of the major challenges in the Nigerian property market was not necessarily the availability of properties but the difficulty of connecting available properties with the right prospective customers.

It explained that agents could have properties that meet the requirements of potential buyers or tenants but struggle to reach them, while individuals actively searching for accommodation might never come across the agents with suitable listings.

Ogle Property is seeking to address the challenge by providing a digital marketplace where property discovery begins with the needs of users rather than their existing connections or knowledge of individual agents.

The platform also seeks to expand the options available to property seekers by allowing them to discover opportunities beyond familiar neighbourhoods and existing networks.

For instance, prospective tenants searching for apartments in a particular area may discover alternative locations offering better value, while property investors could identify opportunities outside their immediate networks.

The company, however, faces the task of building a reliable marketplace, with its long-term success expected to depend on the quality of property listings, accuracy of information, participation of credible agents and sustained engagement from users.

Industry observers have continued to identify access to reliable property information and effective connections between buyers, renters and agents as important considerations in Nigeria’s evolving real estate market.

With the relaunch, Ogle Property is positioning itself to contribute to the digital transformation of the sector by making property discovery more accessible and improving the relationship between available properties and prospective customers.

The company said its focus was not merely to increase the volume of property listings online but to make it easier for Nigerians to find properties that match their requirements.
