Remed Healthcare Opens New Walk-in Clinic, Expands Access to Primary Healthcare
Remed Healthcare, a Lagos-based primary healthcare provider, has expanded its healthcare delivery network with the official opening of a new walk-in clinic and diagnostic centre at Circle Mall, Jakande, Lekki.
The facility, which was inaugurated on Saturday, October 31, 2026, is expected to improve access to essential healthcare services for residents of Jakande and neighbouring communities in Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos State.
The new facility brings Remed Healthcare’s network to four walk-in clinics in Nigeria, reinforcing its commitment to making professional healthcare more accessible, convenient and responsive to the needs of individuals and families.
The launch ceremony drew traditional rulers, community representatives, and other stakeholders, including Baales from the Eti-Osa Local Government Area, a representative of the Eti-Osa Local Government Chairman, and medical practitioners. Their presence underscored the importance of collaboration between healthcare providers, traditional institutions, government and community organisations in improving healthcare access at the grassroots.
As part of activities marking the opening, Remed Healthcare organised a free medical outreach for residents of the Jakande community. The initiative attracted a significant turnout of community members who came forward to access the complimentary medical services.
Speaking at the launch, Medical Director of Remed Healthcare, Dr. Rehanet Egbochie, said the new facility was established to address the need for more accessible and convenient healthcare services within the community.
“Access to timely and appropriate healthcare remains an important challenge for many individuals and families. People should be able to access professional medical attention, appropriate investigations and clinical guidance without necessarily having to navigate the often demanding process of visiting a large hospital for conditions that can be managed on an outpatient basis.
“At Remed Healthcare, our focus is on bringing essential healthcare services closer to the communities we serve. The opening of this facility at Circle Mall is another step towards improving access to primary healthcare, supporting early medical assessment and helping people make informed decisions about their health,” she said.
Egbochie explained that the new centre would provide a range of outpatient medical and diagnostic services designed to address different healthcare needs across age groups.
These include general medical consultations, family medicine, women’s health, men’s health and children’s health; laboratory investigations, X-ray, ultrasound, electrocardiography (ECG) and echocardiography (Echo); dental and eye care services; antenatal care, physiotherapy and immunisation. The facility also provides 12-hour observation, emergency response support, ambulance services and home healthcare, alongside healthcare services for patients under Health Maintenance Organisation (HMO) partnerships.
She further emphasised that the walk-in clinic model provides an additional point of access to healthcare, complementing the services available at conventional hospitals and specialist medical facilities.
“Healthcare delivery should be responsive to the different needs of people at different stages of their lives. While some medical conditions require specialist hospital care or emergency admission, many other health concerns can be appropriately assessed and managed in an outpatient setting. Our objective is to provide a convenient access point where patients can receive professional attention and, where necessary, be guided or referred for further specialist care,” she added.
Chief Thomas Adedeji, Baale Gedegede-Tapa, a traditional chief representing the community, welcomed the establishment of the facility and commended Remed Healthcare for extending its services to the Jakande community.
He said: “Healthcare is an important part of community development, and having a medical facility within our neighbourhood is a welcome development. The people of Jakande and surrounding communities stand to benefit from having easier access to medical consultations and other essential healthcare services. We also appreciate Remed Healthcare for recognising the importance of engaging the host community and demonstrating its commitment through the free medical outreach organised as part of the launch.
The community outreach formed an important part of the launch activities, providing residents with an opportunity to access selected medical services at no cost. The initiative also highlighted the importance of preventive healthcare, regular health checks and seeking professional medical attention when health concerns arise.
Remed Healthcare’s expansion reflects the growing importance of accessible primary healthcare in Nigeria, where timely access to medical professionals, diagnostic investigations and appropriate clinical services remains essential to improving health outcomes.
Through its walk-in clinic model, Remed Healthcare seeks to provide a more accessible route to professional medical care while supporting the broader healthcare system through appropriate outpatient management, clinical assessment and referral when necessary.
The new Circle Mall facility represents another step in the organisation’s efforts to bring healthcare services closer to individuals, families and communities across Lagos.
