OMODA & JAECOO Cross 1.4m Global Sales Milestone, Set Sights on New Mobility Frontier

OMODA & JAECOO have crossed the 1.4 million cumulative global sales milestone in three and a half years, strengthening their international presence as the automotive brands pursue new opportunities in electrification, artificial intelligence and autonomous mobility.
The milestone was highlighted following the 2026 International User Summit held in October in Wuhu, China, where the company brought together customers, media representatives and business partners to showcase its growth strategy and future product direction.
With operations now covering 79 markets, the brands said their next phase of development would focus on combining global expansion with technologies that improve everyday vehicle ownership and mobility experiences.
The summit, themed “DRIVE TO THE NEXT VIBE”, provided an opportunity to demonstrate how the company intends to translate its expanding research and development capabilities into products and services.
A major highlight was the global debut of OMODA X, a futuristic cross-off-road vehicle designed to blend urban functionality with an adventurous exterior character.
The unveiling was accompanied by a user co-creation initiative that invited participants from different countries to present their interpretations of the vehicle, reflecting the company’s growing emphasis on customer participation in product development and brand identity.
Intelligent vehicle technology also featured prominently, particularly the Super Intelligent Valet Parking system (SIVP), which demonstrated automated vehicle summoning, parking-route planning and obstacle avoidance.
The Super Intelligent AI Space (SIAS) further showcased voice-controlled cabin technology capable of interpreting multiple requests in a single instruction, recommending music based on users’ moods and supporting personalised digital experiences.
On the electrification front, the Super Hybrid Marathon provided an opportunity to evaluate the performance of participating vehicles across city roads, highways and mountain routes.
The manufacturer reported that the OMODA 5 NEXT SHS-H achieved fuel consumption of 4.5 litres per 100 kilometres and a maximum driving range of 1,015 kilometres during the event.
The company said the exercise examined not only fuel efficiency but also power delivery, cabin isolation and comfort under different driving conditions.
Beyond vehicle manufacturing, OMODA & JAECOO used the summit to outline its ambitions in autonomous mobility through a purpose-built Level 4 Robotaxi programme.
The initiative includes proposed cooperation with UAE-based K2, with a service model integrating digital bookings, vehicle dispatch, cabin preparation, autonomous journeys and fleet maintenance operations.
The summit also reflected the broader technology ecosystem surrounding the brands through AiMOGA, which launched Mobo, a home companion robot, and opened global pre-orders.
Designed to recognise family members, remember preferences and support everyday interactions, Mobo represents an extension of artificial intelligence and robotics into domestic environments.
Behind these developments is increased investment in research and innovation. OMODA & JAECOO disclosed that research and development expenditure at its parent company, Chery, reached RMB 6.672 billion in the first half of 2026, up 28.3 per cent compared with the corresponding period of 2025.
The company had passed its first million cumulative sales earlier in 2026 before advancing beyond 1.4 million.
The latest milestone underscores the pace of its international expansion and the growing importance of technology, customer experience and alternative powertrain solutions in its global strategy.
While the technologies showcased are at different stages of development and market introduction, the summit offered an indication of the direction OMODA & JAECOO intends to pursue as it competes in an increasingly technology-driven global automotive industry.
