Firm Takes Sports Analysis Beyond the Pick

A Nigeria-based sports analysis platform launched in April 2026, SharpPunter, has extended its analysis beyond match predictions to provide gaming advisory to visitors by checking shared booking code, removing weak selections and tracking matches after kick-off.
Founder, SharpPunter, Oluwatobi Abobade, stated that the expansion follows feedback received from the platform’s user experience.
He explained that most of the decision-making happens after a code is shared, as members swap games in and out, add their own, rebuild the slip on the bookmaker they use and then follow the matches.
He said that the company realised quickly that this had only very little analysis behind it.
“When we started, we expected people to come to SharpPunter mainly for the picks. What we found was that most of them already had a slip in hand and wanted help with it.
”So much of what we have built since then starts from the code a user brings with them and helps them understand it before they place it,” he said.
Users can paste a booking code from any of the 37 bookmakers the platform supports and see every match on it, with a rating of strong, fair or slim on each fixture SharpPunter covers.
Shuffle tool spreads matches from several codes across balanced slips so one bad result cannot sink all of them, while a merge tool combines codes and keeps the stronger pick where a match appears twice. The company notes that trimming a slip lowers its potential payout.
The latest version of the app adds a community section that gathers booking codes posted by popular accounts on X into one feed, filterable by bookmaker, where each code can be copied or checked directly. A separate feed shows the matches most viewed on the platform in the previous 24 hours and which way users are leaning.
After kick-off, a Live section brings scores and key events for football, basketball and tennis onto one board, with football matches showing goalscorers, possession, shots, expected goals and corners. The app also tracks the matches on a user’s slip and notifies them once it has won or lost, and users can follow a club for match updates, recent results and league standings.
The company says sport remains uncertain, but analysis that covers the whole decision gives users more chances to spot a weak game or a slip that is longer than it needs to be before they commit.
SharpPunter serves users across West, East and Southern Africa.
