D’banj turns new song ‘Safe Space’ into star-studded breakfast experience in Ikoyi

D’banj brought some of his favourite people together for a morning of music, movement, food and good vibes as he hosted a star-studded breakfast release party for his new song, “Safe Space”, at The Breakfast Club in Ikoyi, Lagos.

The intimate gathering which took place over the weekend, and doubled as a celebration of the song and an expression of what the concept of a safe space means to different people, attracted an eclectic mix of entertainers, entrepreneurs, creatives and industry figures.

Among those who showed up to celebrate with the music star were Afrobeat icon Seun Kuti, rapper Ice Prince, singer Dare Art Alade, musician Naeto C, actor Deyemi Okanlawon, PiggyVest executive Josh, Chief Idris Olorunnimbe, media personality Ehiz, Samantha Walsh and singer Reekado Banks.

With D’banj’s “safe circle” at the heart of the gathering, the morning unfolded with a series of activities that kept guests engaged, from salsa and yoga sessions to music, conversations and giveaways.

D’banj also took the celebration from the breakfast table to the stage, delivering a performance of “Safe Space” and other crowd-pleasing moments that got guests singing along.

One of the event’s highlights was the superfan reward segment, where guests who downloaded “Safe Space” through the CREAM platform stood a chance to receive rewards. Merchandise and party gifts were also distributed throughout the event.

But beyond the music and giveaways, the gathering, planned by RED & AXLA LOGISTIC, provided room for something more personal. Guests were invited to share what their own safe space meant to them, prompting reflections on the people, places and experiences where they feel most comfortable, accepted and at peace.

The conversations added a more intimate dimension to the event, giving the song’s title a meaning beyond its musical identity and allowing guests to connect with the idea in their own ways.
