Parallax Media Academy Graduates 11 Young Creatives at Summer Media Bootcamp
Parallax Media Academy has graduated 11 students trained across various disciplines of the creative and media industry, reaffirming its commitment to equipping young Nigerians with practical skills for the rapidly evolving creative economy.
The graduates completed introductory training programmes in Videography & Editing, Animation, Sound Production, Graphic Design, Content Creation, and Screenwriting.
The graduating class includes two students in Videography & Editing, one of whom participated virtually from Ireland; one Animation graduate; one Sound Production graduate; two Graphic Design graduates; four Content Creation graduates; and one Screenwriting graduate.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, the Director General of Parallax Media Academy, Osayuwamen Saleh, congratulated the graduates and challenged them to see their training as the beginning of their creative journey rather than the end of their training.
“The creative industry does not only need people who can operate cameras, design graphics, write scripts, produce sound or create content. It needs problem-solvers, storytellers and innovators. Our responsibility at Parallax Media Academy is to give people the skills, confidence and platform to turn their creativity into opportunity,” Saleh said.
She further encouraged the graduates to embrace continuous learning and collaboration, noting that Africa’s growing creative economy presents enormous opportunities for young people with the right skills and mindset.
Parallax Media Academy was established with a mission to shape the future of African media through accessible, practical and industry-focused training.
The Academy’s programmes are designed to combine theory with hands-on experience, enabling students to develop practical skills that can be applied in professional, entrepreneurial and freelance environments.
The impact of the Academy’s programmes has also been recognised by parents whose children participated in the training.
Mrs. Josephine Emenike, a parent of three of the participating students, described the Academy as “truly transformative,” highlighting the safe learning environment, dedicated tutors, modern tools and comprehensive curriculum. She further expressed appreciation to the Academy’s leadership, noting that the experience delivered “genuine value more than what we invested.”
Another parent, Oluwakemi Moronfoye, commended the quality and structure of the training, describing the programme as professional, practical and impactful. She noted that “a lot of thought and effort went into making the training valuable and impactful” and praised the Academy for being “genuinely committed to nurturing and developing young talents.”
The testimonials reinforce the Academy’s commitment to providing not only technical training, but an environment where young people can explore their creativity, build confidence and develop skills relevant to the modern creative economy.
Beyond the graduating class, the Academy is inviting aspiring creatives, entrepreneurs, students, professionals and anyone interested in building a career in the creative industry to explore its regular training programmes.
Courses available include Videography & Editing, Graphic Design, Animation, Content Creation & Social Media Management, AI Videography, Production, Screenwriting, Presenting, Lighting, Sound Production, Art Direction, Makeup for Film & TV and other specialised media disciplines.
New courses commence on the first Tuesday of every month, providing prospective students with regular opportunities to begin their creative journey without having to wait for a once-a-year admission cycle.
“We believe access to quality creative education should not be limited to a select few,” Saleh added. “Whether you are starting from scratch, looking to improve an existing skill, or seeking to turn your creativity into a business, there is a place for you at Parallax Media Academy.”
