BOJAMILEY POSITIONS LAGOS AS A GLOBAL DESTINATION FOR BESPOKE BRIDAL AND LUXURY OCCASION WEARS.

Brides in the United Kingdom, United States, Canada and beyond can now commission custom wedding dresses, occasion wear and traditional outfits made by hand in Lagos, without travelling to Nigeria.

LAGOS, NIGERIA, — Bojamiley, the Lagos luxury fashion house founded by designer and CEO Adebayo Oluwatimileyin, has opened its bespoke bridal, luxury occasion wear and cultural couture service to brides anywhere in the world, allowing a woman planning her wedding in London, Houston or Toronto to commission a custom gown made entirely in Lagos and delivered to her door.

Bojamiley’s position is that the craftsmanship brides fly to established fashion capitals to find is already here. The house builds contemporary bridal silhouettes from premium materials, sustainably woven African textiles and hand beading traditions native to Lagos, and it opens that work to any bride who wants it, whether she is honouring her own heritage or simply commissioning something made entirely by hand.

“A bride should not have to be in Nigeria to be dressed by Nigeria,” Oluwatimileyin said. “She can be in Atlanta, she can be in Manchester, and the dress can still be cut, beaded and finished here by people who know exactly what her ceremony means. That is what we have opened up.”

How an international commission works
It begins with a virtual consultation covering the bride’s vision and her ceremonies. Bojamiley then guides her through measurement, with fabrics and embellishment reviewed together by video call. As the garment is built, she receives progress photography at each stage of construction, and the piece is fitted and finished in Lagos before it is shipped to her.

Brides commissioning from outside Nigeria work directly with the house throughout, with no third-party retailer between them and the atelier.

Luxury made in Lagos, worn anywhere

The house has dressed brides in Lagos and Abuja alongside brides in London, New York, Toronto, Atlanta and Houston for more than five years. Opening the service formally to brides worldwide extends that work to any city where a wedding is being planned.

“A bride can arrive with an idea, a fabric, a family photograph or just a feeling, and our work is to translate it into something made only for her,” Oluwatimileyin said. “It should not matter what passport she carries or what time zone she calls us from.”

International brides can book a consultation at bojamiley.com or through @bojamiley on Instagram.
