MPA Backs Tinubu, Shettima Ahead of 2027 Polls

The Middlebelt Pentecostal Association (MPA) has declared its support for President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima ahead of the 2027 general election, describing the administration as one committed to continuity, stability and national development.

In a statement issued in Abuja, the President of the association, Rev. Jolly Usman of Grace Assembly, said the group was satisfied with the administration’s performance, particularly in infrastructure development, security interventions and programmes targeting communities in the North and Middle Belt.

According to him, the association’s endorsement followed consultations with its member churches across the region.

“We, the Middlebelt Pentecostal Association, wholeheartedly support the continued partnership between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima as the nation looks ahead to the 2027 general election,” Usman said.

He added that the administration had made measurable progress in critical sectors and urged Nigerians to assess political leaders based on their performance rather than religious considerations.

“As northern Christians, we have witnessed tangible progress under this administration, particularly in infrastructure development, security initiatives in the Middle Belt and efforts to bridge developmental gaps,” he said.

Usman also commended Shettima’s role in promoting interfaith dialogue and humanitarian interventions in conflict-affected communities.

“Vice President Shettima has demonstrated commitment to national cohesion. His collaboration with President Tinubu has yielded results in agriculture, education and peace-building initiatives that directly benefit our communities,” he stated.

The association said programmes aimed at improving farmer-herder relations, expanding infrastructure and promoting youth empowerment had contributed to its decision to endorse the administration.

It called on Nigerians to support leaders it described as capable of sustaining development and strengthening national unity.

“This is not about religion; it is about results. We believe the administration has demonstrated its commitment to serving Nigerians irrespective of faith or ethnicity,” Usman added.

The association further urged political stakeholders to prioritise national interest, peaceful engagement and issue-based campaigns as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
