Strengthening Fiscal Accountability: NIQS and FRC Renew Strategic Partnership

The Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC) Headquarters was the focal point of engagement as the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) renewed its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Commission.

Led by its President, QS Dr. Aminu Bashir, FNIQS, the NIQS delegation was received by the Acting Chairman of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, Mr. Charles Chukwuemeka Abah.

The engagement highlighted the complementary roles both institutions play in promoting fiscal discipline, accountability, transparency, and value-for-money in public expenditure and infrastructure delivery.

A key highlight was the Acting Chairman’s appreciation of NIQS’ continued technical support to the Commission, which has strengthened project verification exercises across the country.

He also welcomed the capacity-building opportunities provided through the partnership and reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to deepening collaboration with the Institute.
