Nigeria’s leading gambling harm prevention and responsible gaming advocacy organisation, Gamble Alert, is set to host the Responsible Gaming Symposium 2026 today at D’ Podium International Event Centre, Ikeja, Lagos.
The symposium, themed ‘Building Accountability: Strengthening Africa’s Model for Player Protection’, will convene regulators, policymakers, gaming operators, mental health professionals, researchers, and civil society stakeholders to examine critical issues surrounding responsible gaming, consumer protection, and gambling-related harm across the continent.
Over the years, Gamble Alert has established itself as a leading voice in gambling harm education, research, treatment, advocacy, and player protection. The non-profit organisation’s interventions span public awareness campaigns, behavioural health support, capacity-building programmes, and community-based initiatives designed to prevent gambling-related harm while supporting affected individuals and families.
Led by gambling harm prevention advocate Fisayo Oke, the organisation has consistently championed conversations about safer gaming practices and evidence-based policy interventions within Nigeria’s rapidly growing gaming ecosystem.
As concerns about player safety, responsible gaming, and ethical industry practices continue to gain prominence across Africa, the symposium aims to provide a strategic platform for stakeholders to explore sustainable approaches to regulation, prevention, and consumer protection.
The 2026 edition will feature keynote presentations, expert panel discussions, interactive workshops, and breakout sessions focusing on emerging regulatory frameworks, responsible gaming standards, industry accountability, and innovative tools for mitigating gambling-related risks.
The event comes at a time when African gaming markets are experiencing significant growth, prompting renewed calls for stronger safeguards to protect vulnerable consumers while promoting sustainable industry development.
Meanwhile, GAMINGWEEK has been nominated for recognition at the symposium for its contribution to information gathering, industry reporting, public education, and knowledge dissemination within Nigeria’s gaming sector.
The recognition highlights the publication’s role in advancing informed discourse on industry developments, regulation, responsible gaming, and consumer protection issues within the broader gambling ecosystem.
