Nigerian Sinotrucks Limited has said Edo State capital, Benin, is a regional business hub where every investor should be interested to invest.

The Managing Director Nigerian Sinotucks Limited, Alfred Okugbeni, disclosed the choice of Benin for the multi- dimensional investment is strategic.

During the ground breaking ceremony in Benin yesterday, Okugbeni praised the state government for business-friendly environment, noting that Benin City has been a regional investment destination and also adding that the company’s investment in Edo is very significant.

“Edo State stands as an economic strong hold within Nigeria. It’s geographical advantage in a thriving population, improving infrastructure, industrial potentials make it an idea location for this kind of investment.

“This facility we begin to construct today will be more than physical structure of attraction, it will stimulate local supply chain, it will support artisans, transporters, fabricators, welders, engineers and small businesses whose livelihood depends on these industrial activities.”

According to him, the choice of Edo State is equally strategic. For years, analysts have increasingly identified Edo as one of Nigeria’s emerging industrial and logistics corridors.

Located within the South South region and connected to key commercial routes across the country, the state possesses significant geographic advantages.

Its proximity to major transport arteries positions it as an attractive destination for manufacturing and distribution activities.

Beyond geography, Edo State has steadily cultivated a reputation for enterprise, technical talent, and investment friendliness. The state’s growing infrastructure profile, expanding urban economy, and improving investment climate have strengthened its appeal to industrial operators seeking long term operational stability, he affirmed.

He said aside employment, the hub will contribute meaningfully to the development of technical knowledge transfer.

He said training of engineers will be one of the mantras of the hub, noting before the year runs out electric vehicles will flood the country. “Already, we have CNG trucks and before end of the year, we are bringing in electric powered vehicles, trucks that will moving on our roads.

The managing director emphasised that when fully operational, the shop will take care of sale, service, and provide soareparts to Sino Trucks from China.

He said the firm will also provide survey – a feedback mechanism from customers for adequate planning and accountability. He said these 4S – Service, sale, spare parts, survey – will be pursued passionately.

Okugbeni maintained that it’s not a just a shop but building a globally competitive industrial institution capable of competing with any business enterprise across the globe.

He said Nigerian Sinotrucks Limited believes in local manufacturing, which according to him, remains the path way to nation’s economic stability, employment generation and national functionality.

According to him, since its inception in 2012, Nigerian Sinotrucks Limited has remained committed to building durable, reliable, cost-effective brand tailored towards the manufacturing sector, adding the company exists to ensure that Nigeria’s economy moves to the next level.

He noted: “Our journey has been defined by conviction and discipline, which began as a vision and has evolved into Nigeria recognised as truck assembly and distribution brands.

“Through our strategic partnership with Sinotruk China, that is almost a pioneer in heavy trucks manufacturing as far as China is concerned, we have consistently delivered products in the logistics sector and other stakeholders.”

Okugbeni stated further that with partnership parent company in China, “We have decided that we are taking this business into the next level. We are not just going to do what every other person is doing by importing trucks, sell and leave the customers to do what they can to maintain them, we have decided to partner with our customers by service, provide spare parts and also survey the market.”

The managing director stressed that the only way to go in developing the country is by making investment that will generate employment, and the way to do that is to go into manufacturing the necessities.

“Our mantra is simple yet powerful. We believe in delivering values through reliable, innovative, efficient and long-term partnership. This groundbreaking represents the next phase of our expansion drive and national growth strategy.”

Project director, Bankole Owoade, said the hub will cater for the cluster in the zone and southern areas, saying the shop will be a place where customers will love to feel, tour brand new trucks on display and relax in an atmosphere of freshness
