ABIG NWANKWO LEADS OKIJA STAKEHOLDERS TO ENDORSE DIVINE NGOBIDI
In a significant political development in Ihiala Constituency II, stakeholders of Okija, under the leadership of High Chief Chimezie Nwankwo, have unanimously endorsed Hon. Divine Onyekachi Ngobidi as their preferred candidate for the Anambra State House of Assembly ahead of the 2027 elections.
The endorsement took place during a well-attended gathering of constituents drawn from all 11 wards of Ihiala II, reflecting a broad-based consensus across the constituency. The event, held on May 2, witnessed a large turnout of community leaders, political stakeholders, youth representatives, and party faithfuls.
Addressing the crowd, High Chief Nwankwo emphasized that the endorsement was not a personal decision but a collective resolution reached after extensive consultations among key stakeholders in Okija. According to him, the community has resolved to rally full support behind Ngobidi’s aspiration, describing it as a project that represents the shared interest and future of the people.
“This is not my decision alone,” he stated. “It is the collective will of critical stakeholders of Okija who have come together in unity to endorse Hon. Divine Ngobidi. We are committed to mobilizing all necessary support to ensure the success of this project.”
The stakeholders cited dissatisfaction with the performance of the current representative, pointing to what they described as a lack of responsiveness to the needs and concerns of the people. They stressed the need for a more proactive, people-oriented leadership that would effectively represent the constituency at the state level.
Hon. Ngobidi, an aspirant under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), was praised for his grassroots engagement, youth mobilization efforts, and consistent involvement in community development initiatives.
Observers note that the endorsement by Okija stakeholders widely regarded as a major political bloc within Ihiala II Constituency could significantly shape the dynamics of the upcoming electoral contest.
The event concluded with a resounding voice vote, as hundreds of attendees affirmed and seconded the motion of endorsement, signaling a strong show of unity and political direction ahead of the 2027 polls.
