Pillarcraft Cloud Solutions has announced the launch of UsawaConnect — a platform designed to help Nigerian businesses comply with the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) e-invoicing framework.
This came as the enters a new era of tax compliance, where invoices must be digitally validated, assigned unique identifiers, and transmitted through approved government systems.
However, Managing Director/ Chief Executive, Pillarcraft Cloud Solutions, Bayode Agbi said many businesses are not prepared for this shift.
Under the new system, invoices are no longer just documents issued to customers – they must now be
digitally structured, validated through approved systems, assigned unique reference identifiers, and submitted electronically before they are recognised as valid.
Agbi said, “This represents a fundamental change in how businesses manage revenue, billing, and compliance.”
The transition to e-invoicing is expected to follow a phased approach -Large taxpayers (N5 billion and above) are expected to lead early adoption while Medium-sized businesses (N1 billion – N5 billion) are expected to come into scope from July 2026.
He said, “This means many businesses are already within the implementation window.
Businesses that fail to prepare risk invoice rejection, delays in receiving payments, operational disruption and increased exposure during tax audits.”
Nonetheless,
UsawaConnect acts as a bridge between business systems and regulatory requirements, enabling organisations to continue using their existing accounting, ERP, or POS systems.
The solution automatically generate compliant invoices , and seamlessly transmit invoices to the NRS platform.
According to him, “This eliminates the need for complex internal system changes while ensuring full compliance.”
While the regulation applies to businesses, implementation will largely be driven by professionals, Agbi noted, adding that most organisations will depend on accountants, tax practitioners, and technology consultants to interpret requirements and deploy compliant solutions.
Hence, he said the e-invoicing solution was designed not only as a business tool, but as an enablement platform for professionals.
In a statement, Agbi said,
“E-invoicing is not something most businesses can implement on their own.
Accountants and advisors will be at the center of this transition.
“UsawaConnect enables them to deliver this efficiently, while helping businesses stay compliant without disruption.”
In addition to the launch, Pillarcraft also introduced the UsawaConnect Partner Programme, enabling accounting firms and consultants to provide e-invoicing implementation services, support clients through compliance transitions, and build new advisory and recurring revenue streams to further unlock new opportunities for accounting firms.
He said, “This positions professionals as key players in Nigeria’s evolving digital tax ecosystem.”
