Eid al-Fitr: Olu Alo felicitates Muslims, Christians, preaches harmony
A renowned cleric and planter of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Adamimogo Grace of Mercy Prayer Mountain Worldwide, Prophet Sam Olu Alo, has felicitated Muslims and Christians for successfully observing their respective fasting periods, urging adherence to doctrinal teachings and renewed patriotism to Nigeria.
In a statement signed by his Personal Assistant, Deji Ogunbusiyi, the cleric noted that the coincidence of the Islamic and Christian fasting seasons this year reflects a unique opportunity for unity and spiritual reflection among Nigerians.
He said the period should serve as a reminder that God does not discriminate, calling on adherents of both faiths to shun religious intolerance and embrace peaceful coexistence, particularly as the country approaches another election cycle.
Olu Alo urged political leaders, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and state governors, especially Ekiti State Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, to govern with the fear of God and prioritise the welfare of the masses.
He also expressed condolences to the family of the late gospel singer, Taiwo Adegbodu, praying against untimely deaths among gospel ministers in the country and encouraging them to uphold holiness in their ministries.
The cleric emphasised that fasting goes beyond abstinence, describing it as a period for moral purification, compassion for the less privileged, and deeper devotion to God.
He called on Nigerians to use the season to promote love, peace, tolerance, and justice, while rejecting hatred, violence, and division.
“At a time when our nation faces various challenges, the prayers and sacrifices offered during this season are invaluable. May they bring healing, peace, and progress to our land,” he said.
Olu Alo further urged religious leaders to foster dialogue and strengthen interfaith harmony, stressing the need for unity across religious and ethnic lines.
He prayed that God would accept the sacrifices of the faithful and grant Nigeria lasting peace and prosperity.
