Tumi Ifebogun Leads Initiative to Equip Women for Opportunities in the Digital Economy
A Gen-Z digital empowerment advocate, Tumi Ifebogun, has convened over 300 women entrepreneurs in Abuja for a women-only digital empowerment conference aimed at increasing female participation in the fast-growing digital economy.
The conference, tagged SkillHer: Her Digital Power Experience, brought together female founders, digital professionals and aspiring business owners seeking knowledge on how to build, structure and scale their businesses in the digital space.
The event was organised through Ifebogun’s initiative, ImpactHerfrica, which focuses on supporting women with the skills, knowledge and platforms required to succeed in today’s technology-driven marketplace.
Speaking during the event, Ifebogun said the conference was created to bridge the gap many women face in accessing digital knowledge, systems and financial literacy needed to compete effectively in the online economy.
“If women are not positioned within the digital economy, we risk widening the opportunity gap. This is about building rooms that create real access,” she said.
The one-day conference featured keynote addresses and panel discussions led by women across business, finance and technology sectors, with conversations centred on monetising digital skills, building scalable business systems and leveraging online platforms for greater visibility.
As part of efforts to move beyond discussions, organisers also introduced a ₦1 million business grant initiative, allowing selected female entrepreneurs to pitch their business ideas live for funding support.
Participants noted that the conference highlighted the increasing demand for women-focused entrepreneurial platforms and digital education across Nigeria.
With more than 300 women in attendance and plans already underway for future editions, stakeholders say initiatives such as SkillHer could help create new pathways for women seeking growth and economic opportunities in the digital space.
