Tizeti Launches Ad-Supported Internet Access in Nigeria, Ghana
Tizeti Network Limited has completed the rollout of an ad-supported internet access platform across all its hotspot locations in Nigeria and Ghana, converting advertising engagement into free connectivity for millions of users.
The platform, powered by Google Ad Manager’s Rewarded Web technology, allows users to voluntarily watch short video advertisements in exchange for data rewards, unlocking internet access without upfront payment.
With millions of hotspot users across its network, Tizeti now operates one of Africa’s largest ad-supported connectivity platforms.
The service operates under Tizeti’s privacy and data protection policies and processes user data in compliance with applicable regulations, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act and Ghana’s Data Protection Act.
User participation is voluntary and designed with privacy protections in place.
At Tizeti hotspot locations, users connect to the network as usual and are presented with the option to voluntarily view a short video advertisement in exchange for data rewards.
Users who choose to participate provide explicit consent to engage with rewarded advertising and receive defined data allocations upon completion, with the ability to earn additional data through repeated opt-in sessions.
The system is designed to create a transparent value exchange: users gain flexible internet access without immediate payment, advertisers benefit from high-quality, opt-in engagement, and Tizeti expands connectivity through a commercially sustainable model.
The launch comes as Africa’s digital advertising market accelerates.
Programmatic advertising spend on the continent is projected to reach approximately $4 billion in 2025 and exceed $5 billion by 2028, with the majority of advertising revenue expected to be generated through programmatic channels by the end of the decade.
