EVI Original Soundtrack Album Amplifies Female Voices in Groundbreaking Afrobeats Release

EVI Original Soundtrack Album has launched as a standalone release on all major digital streaming platforms ahead of the film’s theatrical debut on March 27, 2026.

The 10-track album, from the female-led film produced by Judith Audu and written and directed by Uyoyou Adia, features fast-rising actress Osas Okonyon making her professional singing debut alongside powerful contributions from Ariyiike Dimples, Abbey Wonder and Bukeh Ikang (FBI).

In an unprecedented move for Nollywood, the EVI team is purposefully positioning the soundtrack as a standalone musical experience—a rarity in the Nigerian entertainment landscape where film soundtracks are often released as afterthoughts or remain unreleased entirely. By treating the album as a major release in its own right, complete with a coordinated streaming launch and promotional campaign, the team is challenging industry norms and creating a new template for how Nigerian cinema can integrate with the country’s thriving music scene.

According to the producer, the album serves as the musical companion to EVI, an upcoming Afrobeat drama produced by Judith Audu and written and directed by Uyoyou Adia. With Female Executive Producers Mimah Keiko, Damilola Osikoya, Omowunmi Dada, Patricia Corlet Akugha, Nehita Ofure Irieme, Uyoyou Adia and Judith Audu, Set for theatrical release on March 27, 2026, the film tells a story of second chances, survival, and the transformative power of positive reinforcement—themes that resonate powerfully in the soundtrack’s sonic landscape.

“This album represents a deeply personal journey for me,” says Okonyon. “As a woman stepping into a new creative space during Women’s Month, I’m honoured to be part of a project that celebrates female voices and challenges industry conventions. It’s rare to see a Nigerian film soundtrack get this level of effort and promotion. Every song on this album mirrors Evi’s story from her struggles to her resilience and her rebirth. To share that story through music, and to see it treated as seriously as the film itself, has been transformative.”

Driven by rich Afrobeats influences, the EVI Original Soundtrack Album delivers an emotional musical journey that mirrors the rise, fall, and rebirth of its central character. Blending upbeat, danceable tracks with intimate and vulnerable moments, the album explores themes of perseverance, self-belief, love, community, and emotional growth. From
From the celebratory energy of “Evi the Superstar” to the reflective vulnerability of “Where Do I Go” and the empowering resilience of “Mirror,” the project unfolds as a cohesive story of becoming, reminding listeners that setbacks do not define the future and that hope always remains.

“We made a deliberate choice to release this album as a major standalone project because we believe Nigerian film soundtracks deserve the same attention and reverence as our music industry commands globally,” says producer Judith Audu. “Osas brought an incredible authenticity to both her acting and vocal performances. She didn’t just sing the songs; she embodied Evi’s journey. I believe every form of art whether OST or movie should be treated as art that can stand on its own.”

The album’s sonic landscape was crafted by multiple award-winning music producer Tolu Obanro (popularly known as Tyanx), whose production expertise brings together the diverse vocal talents into a cohesive Afrobeats journey. The album features compelling contributions from Abbey Wonder, Bukeh Ikang (FBI), and Ariyiike Dimples, each adding unique emotional layers to the soundtrack’s storytelling. The collaborative spirit that defines the album reflects the communal themes at the heart of the EVI narrative.

“Music is the heartbeat of this film, and we wanted to honor that by giving the soundtrack its own life,” says writer-director Uyoyou Adia. “We wanted audiences to feel Evi’s emotions not just through the visuals but through every note and lyric. Having Osas as both our lead actress and primary vocalist created an unbreakable bond between character and sound. By releasing this album independently, we’re showing that Nollywood soundtracks can exist as legitimate artistic statements.”

The album’s industry impact was evident at the official listening party held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Terraform Restaurant in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos. The evening event attracted a roster of Nigeria’s entertainment elite, bringing together a constellation of Nollywood’s brightest stars and top music industry professionals. The cross-industry turnout underscored the album’s significance as a bridge between Nigerian cinema and music.

Tracks in the album include; Evi Album Intro (Osas Okonyon), ‘Evi the Superstar’ (Osas Okonyon), ‘Vuvuzela’ (Abbey Wonder), ‘No Yawa’ (Osas Okonyon), ‘Brighter Day’ (Osas Okonyon), ‘All My Love’ (Abbey Wonder & Osas Okonyon), ‘Where Do I Go’ (Osas Okonyon), ‘Put Me In a Box’ (Bukeh Ikang – FBI), ‘Move’ (Ariyiike Dimples), and ‘Mirror’ (Osas Okonyon & Ariyiike Dimples).
