The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Diaspora has officially enacted its 2026 Constitution, solidifying its mandate as the umbrella body, coordinating structure, and statutory mouthpiece for Nigerian youth and youth organizations outside the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Under the leadership of the NYCN Diaspora President, Amb. Collins Osazee Idahosa, the Council continues its mission to ensure Nigerian youth abroad realize their full potential, advocate for their rights, provide consular and integration guidance, and foster inclusive participation in the decision-making processes of the Nigerian State. Operating under the motto “Build the Youth, Build the Nation,” the NYCN Diaspora is dedicated to advancing youth development globally through social enlightenment, mobilization, advocacy, and strategic partnerships.

The newly adopted 2026 Constitution establishes a robust governance structure to ensure transparency, accountability, and a global reach. The framework introduces specialized organs to execute the Council’s global vision, including:

The Diaspora Youth Congress: The highest decision-making organ.

The Diaspora Board of Trustees (DBoT): Authorized to act as the internal conscience and legal supervisor of the Council.

The Diaspora Advisory Council (DAC): A body of advisers and mentors providing expert guidance and policy oversight.

The Diaspora Executive Council (DEC): The administrative engine and executive authority responsible for interpreting the vision of the Council globally.

In celebration of its continued growth and global impact, the NYCN Diaspora is proud to announce the upcoming “Nigeria Diaspora Youth Day,” scheduled for August 22, 2026, in London. This monumental event will concurrently serve as the NYCN 62nd Anniversary Symposium. Following the tremendous success of the 61st anniversary gathering in Madrid, this year’s symposium will bring together young Nigerian leaders, professionals, and stakeholders to discuss the future of youth empowerment, celebrate cultural identity, and strengthen global networks.

“As we operationalize this new Constitution, our focus remains squarely on our vision: to empower Nigerian Youth in the Diaspora toward global impact, national pride, and individual excellence,” stated Amb. Collins Osazee Idahosa, President of the NYCN Diaspora.

The NYCN Diaspora invites all Nigerian youths, affiliated organizations, and international partners to join the celebrations in London this August.
