The Board of Trustees of Women in Maritime and Energy (WIME) Awards, led by its Chairperson, Dr. Chizoba Anyika, paid a strategic courtesy visit to the Executive Director of Pan Ocean, Dr. Bolaji Ogundare, as part of preparations for the landmark WIME@5 celebration scheduled for March in commemoration of International Women’s Day (IWD) 2026.

The visit formed part of WIME’s broader engagement strategy to strengthen corporate partnerships and deepen industry collaboration in advancing women’s leadership across the maritime and energy sectors.
As WIME marks five impactful years of recognizing, empowering, and amplifying women shaping the blue and energy economy, Dr. Anyika emphasized the importance of institutional support in accelerating gender inclusion and sustainable sectoral growth.

Speaking during the visit, Dr. Anyika noted: “WIME@5 is not just a celebration of milestones. It is a call to action for industry leaders to intentionally create pathways for women to lead. When women are given the platform to contribute at decision-making levels, the future of maritime and energy becomes more resilient, innovative, and sustainable.”

Discussions centered on: Strategic partnership opportunities for WIME@5; strengthening female representation in technical and executive roles; corporate collaboration to build sustainable talent pipelines; and driving inclusive growth within the blue and energy economy.

The Executive Director of Pan Ocean, Dr. Bolaji Ogundare, warmly received the delegation and reaffirmed Pan Ocean’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote diversity, innovation, and long-term sectoral impact.

WIME@5 promises to be a defining moment — celebrating excellence, leadership, and the transformative impact of women in maritime and energy.
