FCT Elections: CBM Coordinator Suleiman Magaji Congratulates APC Winners Across Area Councils

Hon. Suleiman Abubakar Magaji, the North Central Zonal Youth Coordinator of the City Boy Movement (CBM), has congratulated candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on their victories in five of the six chairmanship seats contested in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council elections.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday declared the APC winners in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Abaji, Bwari, Kwali, and Kuje, reaffirming the party’s dominance in the FCT’s grassroots political structure.

Reacting to the outcome, Magaji described the victories as a reflection of the people’s trust in the APC and its leadership direction.

“The outcome of the elections clearly shows that the people of the FCT have confidence in the APC and its commitment to grassroots development. I congratulate all our candidates who emerged victorious,” he said.

According to the results released by INEC, Joshua Ishaku of the APC won the Bwari Area Council chairmanship with 18,466 votes, while Christopher Maikalangu secured re-election in AMAC after polling 40,295 votes.

In Abaji Area Council, Umar Abdullahi Abubakar emerged winner, while in Kwali, APC candidate Nuhu Daniel polled 17,032 votes to defeat his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) counterpart, Haruna Pai, who garnered 8,575 votes.

Similarly, in Kuje Area Council, APC’s Danjuma Shekwolo clinched victory with 17,269 votes.

Magaji commended the candidates for what he described as disciplined campaigns and their ability to connect with voters at the grassroots level. He noted that the victories were not only political wins but also a call to greater service.

“These victories come with responsibility. The expectations of the people are high, and I am confident that the elected chairmen will deliver impactful governance that reflects the ideals of our party,” he added.

The CBM coordinator also praised the leadership of the APC and the role of young people in mobilizing support across the councils, emphasizing that youth participation remains critical to the party’s continued success.

“Our youths played a significant role in these victories. This is a clear indication that when young people are engaged positively, they can influence democratic outcomes and drive development,” he said.

Magaji further urged the newly elected chairmen to prioritize inclusive governance, community development, and policies that directly impact the lives of residents.

Political observers say the APC’s performance in the FCT Area Council elections reinforces its grassroots strength and organizational structure ahead of future electoral contests.

Magaji concluded by calling for unity among party members and stakeholders, stressing the need to consolidate on the gains recorded at the polls.

“As we celebrate these victories, we must remain united and focused on delivering good governance to the people. This is just the beginning of greater achievements ahead,” he said.
