Kenyan media personality, social activist, and entrepreneur Adelle Onyango has launched a new podcast series, ‘Difference She Makes’, that shines a spotlight on women transforming the legal profession across Africa.

Produced in partnership with Legally Clueless, the six-part series explores how women in law are driving institutional reform, challenging traditional systems, and building intergenerational solidarity.

According to the Communications Officer for the Voice and Verdict Fellowship, Nelly Uwineza, the podcast examines law not just as theory, but as a lived experience shaped by culture, relationships, workplace realities, and leadership.

“Across six episodes, the podcast highlights practical levers that shape institutional change; from strategic litigation and professional ethics to movement building, leadership, and the everyday ways women expand access to justice,” Uwineza said.

The series features leading legal voices from Kenya, South Africa, and Nigeria, including Anne Ireri, outgoing CEO of FIDA Kenya; Zikhona Ndlebe, lawyer and researcher from South Africa; Ruth Tanui, Founder and Managing Partner of Ruth Tanui & Co. Advocates; Natasha Ali Errey, Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and Chairperson of Mombasa Law Society; Odunoluwa Longe, Partner and Co-Founder of TLP Advisory; and Sibongile Ndashe, Founder of the Initiative for Strategic Litigation in Africa (ISLA).

Onyango, recognised by UN Women for her work in gender equality, said the podcast embodies the principle that “storytelling shapes who is seen as credible, whose work is valued, and how societies imagine justice, leadership, and power.”

Olivia Maina of Difference She Makes added, “Reform only becomes real when women are part of shaping, interpreting, and sustaining it. By bringing together women across generations and legal traditions, the podcast shows how progress is built cumulatively.”

Episodes will air every Friday for six weeks on Legally Clueless platforms, as well as on Spotify, Castbox, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube.

The launch is supported by a multi-country media campaign engaging mainstream media, digital platforms, cultural voices, and policy discussions across Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa.
