Stephen Akorede set to build Nigeria’s first Snow City park.
At a time when many real estate developers continue to replicate familiar models, Rest Realty is charting a different course—one driven by imagination, boldness, and the belief that Nigeria deserves more innovative developments.
The company has officially secured one million square meters of land for what is set to become Nigeria’s first-ever Snow City Park, a landmark project to be located in Ibadan, Oyo State.
For the Founder of Rest Realty, Stephen Akorede, said that the vision behind the Snow City Park is both professional and deeply personal.
Having lived in Dubai for over four years, Akorede was exposed to how visionary real estate projects and world-class attractions can transform cities, stimulate economies, and reshape global perceptions. That experience, he says, redefined his understanding of what is possible within Nigeria’s real estate and tourism sectors.
“I believe the traditional way of doing real estate in Nigeria cannot evolve the country. We cannot continue to watch things go wrong without daring to step forward and do something truly different,” Akorede said.
He noted that The Snow City Park represents the first phase of a larger multi-billion-naira development designed to blend tourism, lifestyle, and investment0⁰ opportunities. Envisioned as a major leisure and tourism destination, the park is projected to attract over one million visitors annually.
“Beyond entertainment, the project is expected to generate thousands of direct and indirect jobs, stimulate local businesses, and position Ibadan as a notable destination on the global tourism map”
Beyond the novelty of snow-based attractions, the broader master plan reflects a holistic city concept”.
Akorede further stated that the proposed development will feature residential housing for over 1,000 residents, office spaces, schools, expansive green parks, investors’ lounges, tech founders’ hubs, and a secure residents’ identification system.
According to the developers, these elements are designed to ensure sustainability, security, and long-term value for both residents and investors.
Rest Realty has expressed strong confidence in the project’s economic prospects, noting that investors stand to benefit from tangible returns driven by tourism inflow, quality infrastructure, and future-focused urban planning.
The founder also hinted that additional major announcements related to the project will be unveiled in the coming months.
Adding to the momentum, Rest Realty has revealed plans to host Nigeria’s first-ever Snow Festival this December. The festival is expected to fuse snow experiences with music, culture, and the vibrant energy of “Detty December,” offering Nigerians and visitors a unique and unforgettable end-of-year experience.
According to the company, the Snow City Park is only the beginning of a broader vision aimed at redefining the intersection of real estate, tourism, and lifestyle development in Nigeria—proving that bold ideas, when pursued with conviction, can reshape the nation’s future.
