Hon. Jim Okolo Inducted as Implementation Partner of NAF Global Peace

The National Coordinator, Nouvelle Perspective, Hon. Amb. (Dr) Jim Chimezie Okolo has been formally inducted as an implementation partner for the Nigeria Air Force (NAF) Directorate of Peace Support Operations.

The UN-accredited election observer was decorated at the NAF headquarters in a brief ceremony on Friday where he pledged to lend his voice in the discourse for a more peaceful world.

He joins other prominent Nigerians to be decorated as members of the NAF Global Peace Implementing Partners (IPs).

The Directorate for Peace Support Operations was established to create a robust framework for pledging capabilities to the UN Capacities Readiness System, planning, managing, and implementing PSO activities and deployments. It is aimed at enabling the NAF to effectively project airpower beyond the nation’s shores.

It is one of the various measures, policies and infrastructure under the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar in the last 18 months to ensure personnel have the necessary tools and enabling environment9 to thrive in their efforts at safeguarding lives and properties.

Speaking after his induction, Okolo expressed appreciation to the NAF leadership for the recognition and responsibility bestowed on him, stating that the partnership represents a call to greater service.

“This induction is not just an honour but a responsibility to work with credible institutions and stakeholders in advancing peace, stability, and human security. I am committed to supporting initiatives that promote dialogue, cooperation, and sustainable peace both within Nigeria and across borders,” he said.

Along with AUDA NEPAD Nigeria, Embassy Union Delegation to Nigeria and European Union Delegation to Nigeria, his Nouvelle Perspective was one of the four organizations recently enlisted by INEC as those licensed to take part in various elections in Nigeria and across the world.

One of the high profile elections it took part in was the 2024 election which produced Donald Trump as the President of the United States.

It also observed the Namibia’s election last year which produced Gideon Boko as the winner.

Nouvelle Perspective also has observed off-season elections in Nigeria in recent times, including Rivers State local government election as well as Senatorial, House of Representatives and State Assembly vacant positions across the country earlier this year
