OrderPaper Nigeria Invited to Elite Global Research and Governance Group

OrderPaper, Nigeria’s foremost parliamentary monitoring organisation and public policy think tank, has been invited to join the Evidence in Governance and Politics (EGAP) research network as an institutional member.

In a formal communication to Oke Epia, OrderPaper’s founder and chief executive, the executive director of EGAP, Daniel Rubenson, said OrderPaper was invited to add value to the outputs of the network through “active exchange with a research and practitioner community” and by contributing to its activities, some of which involve public goods provision and service.”

EGAP is an international network of researchers and practitioners committed to advancing evidence-based approaches to improving governance and political institutions worldwide.

Membership in the network is invitation-only, highly competitive, and designed to foster the active exchange of evidence-driven governance ideas and practices across regions and countries worldwide, from a multidisciplinary approach.

OrderPaper’s membership of the global elite network marks a significant step in the organisation’s growing engagement with global evidence-driven governance communities, specifically, its work at the intersection of legislative accountability, public policy, and democratic governance.

As an institutional member, OrderPaper will actively participate in policy events on behalf of EGAP, contributing to public-facing policy resources, providing substantive feedback on research projects, and serving on relevant EGAP committees.

Responding to the invitation, Mr. Epia expressed delight and described it as a privileged recognition of OrderPaper’s decade of tireless work in legislative reporting, archiving, accountability and policy advocacy.

He stated: “We are honoured by this invitation and see it as both a global recognition and responsibility. Joining EGAP strengthens our commitment to grounding legislative reforms and governance advocacy in rigorous evidence, while also sharing lessons from Nigeria’s democratic and parliamentary experience with a global audience.

“Our membership of EGAP, which comes during our ongoing novel and unprecedented research work on indexing political actors with dual service paths in the legislature and executive arms of government since the Fourth Republic in 1999, reinforces OrderPaper’s position as a credible civic actor in governance reform advocacy and evidence-informed policymaking, both within Nigeria and beyond.

“EGAP provides OrderPaper, and indeed, Nigeria, a veritable opportunity to engage global stakeholders on case studies of governance, including our uniquely designed Facility for Legislative Executive Exchange (FLEX), share learning, and receive peer reviews to improve both theory and practice. OrderPaper proudly accepts the invitation to become an institutional member of EGAP.”

OrderPaper is Nigeria’s foremost independent parliamentary monitoring organisation and policy think tank, with a strong decade-long trajectory in research, documentation, and practice on legislative and governance issues.

OrderPaper Nigeria deploys data and technology to bridge the gap between parliament, policy, and citizens, producing accessible and reliable parliamentary data that supports civic action and informed decision-making by public and private entities.

It serves as the lead organisation and secretariat of the Nigerian Network of Parliamentary Monitoring Organisations (NNPMO) and is a recognised civil society partner to the National Assembly, which has benefited from institutional support through projects and programmes supported by international development partners, including the United Kingdom’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), McArthur Foundation, and the defunct United States Agency for International Development (USAID), among others.

OrderPaper Nigeria’s commitment to innovation is reflected in its flagship programmes and products, including the Initiative for Celebrating Outstanding National Statespersons (ICONS), the Facility for Legislative Executive Exchange (FLEX), the Most Valuable Parliamentarian (MVP) Hall of Fame initiative, and its widely referenced National Assembly Annual Performance Appraisals.

These efforts have positioned OrderPaper Nigeria as a trusted authority on parliamentary reporting, advocacy, and public policy in Nigeria, with growing relevance across Africa and globally.
