CSP AKerele, Ambasssador Ajadi, Prince Hamzat Shine At Eagle Awards 2025

It was time to reward merit and industry in Lagos yesterday, with Chairman of the Lagos State Task Force on the Environment, CSP Adetayo Akerele; Gubernatorial aspirant in the People’s Democrat Party (PDP) Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo as well as Executive Chairman of the Fako-Ijaiye Local Government Area, Prince Hamzat Akanbi emerging winners.

This was the third edition of The Eagle Awards & Banquet 2025 which was held in Lagos.

While Akerele got the Excellence in Public Sector Award, for heading a most proactive team and helping to sanitse and secure Lagos, Ambassador Ajadi was recognised for rare philanthropy and impactful politics.

On the other hand, Prince Usman Hamzat Akanbi emerged the Local Government Chairman of the Year.

On the other hand, Special Adviser to the Governor, Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Lagos State Government, Dr Adekunle Olayinka, Special Adviser of the year, while Hon. Adedeji Temitope Adewale representing Ifako-Ijaiye I constituency at the Lagos State House of Assembly, emerged “Lawmaker Of The Year”.

Special Programmes Director of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ) Dr Jide Johnson, while providing a background to the awards, said the winners were being recognised to serve as inspiration to others in the society to do good works.

He reiterated that the country was blessed with capable hands and that effective harnessing of these would help stand her out.

In other categories, Senior Aide to the Speaker House of Representatives office of youth Matters National Assembly of Nigeria, Hon Hakeem Ojerinde was awarded the trophy of Innovative Impact Award 2025, while Mr Thompson Akpobome Biokoro, a season sailor and community development enthusiast, won the Eagle Patriot Award.

A highlight of the awards ceremony was the presentation of a pep talk on retiring happily as well as insight into annuity insurance presented by Mr Oyekola Taiwo Zacharia, a staff of American International Insruance PLC who also emerged, Annuity Insurance Icon Of The Year.
