B.O.Y Music Disowns Alleged Online Store, Warns Fans Against Scam Links
B.O.Y Music has issued a strong disclaimer distancing itself and its artiste, Ofego, from reports suggesting that Ofegosongs.com operates as an e-commerce marketplace or online retail store, describing such claims as false, misleading and potentially dangerous to fans.
In a statement released by the label, B.O.Y Music clarified that the website is strictly a music streaming and download platform created solely for the distribution of Ofego’s songs, albums and related music content. The label stressed that the website has never sold, and does not sell, phones, electronics, clothing, shoes or any form of retail products.
According to the statement, recent misleading search results have redirected unsuspecting users to fraudulent shopping sites created by scammers using malicious advertising and search engine manipulation techniques. These fake listings reportedly display unrealistically cheap prices for popular brand items in a bid to lure users into providing payment details or downloading harmful software.
Reacting to the development, B.O.Y Music warned fans to be vigilant and avoid clicking suspicious links claiming to be associated with. “our website is not an e-commerce marketplace nor a retail store. It is purely a music streaming platform dedicated to Ofego’s songs. Any page suggesting otherwise was never created by us and does not exist on our website,” the label stated.
The record label further explained that the alleged product pages attributed to Ofegosongs.com were fabricated and designed to appear only within manipulated search engine results, noting that such scams are common during festive seasons when online shopping activities increase.
B.O.Y Music also dismissed claims allegedly generated by automated AI summaries suggesting that the platform operates a public product catalogue, describing such information as entirely false. The label noted that the website contains only music-related sections, including albums, trending tracks, official videos, lyrics and artiste information, with no shopping carts, prices or inventory listings.
The management urged anyone who may have clicked on suspicious redirects to immediately scan their devices for malware and avoid entering personal or financial information. It added that reports have already been filed with Google to address the misleading results, although similar scams tend to resurface frequently.
B.O.Y Music advised fans and the general public to rely only on direct visits to the website and the official Ofego Songs mobile application, which is expected to launch soon on the Play Store, for authentic content.
The statement concluded with a festive message, wishing fans a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year, while encouraging them to look forward to Ofego’s forthcoming project, 1 Man MP, expected in the new year.
