Padita Agu Wins Best Actress of the Year for the Movie “Blackout”

A veteran Nollywood actress, Padita Agu has won the Best Actress of the Year 2025, further stretching her influence as a star to reckon with in the nation’s movie industry.

She won at the 17th edition of the Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards which took place at the National Theatre, now known as The Wole Soyinka Center for Culture and Creative Arts in Lagos.

The award celebrates the movie industry’s finest and crowning the year’s top talents, where Padita has through hard work and creativity stamped her name.

Blackout saw a clean sweep in the lead acting awards category, with Gideon Okeke also taking home the Best Actor of the year.

Stakeholders see the 17th BON Awards a brilliant testament to Nollywood’s continued growth, celebrating both the established stars and the technical and creative professionals who are raising the bar for Nigerian storytelling globally.

She stole the show with her alluring beauty and elegance when she stormed the stage to receive her award, in the company of friends, family and well wishers.

The graduate of Theatre Arts has equally attended several courses in Acting, for Film and Filmmaking which equipped her in both performance and production.
