“All and …None” Ignites MUSON Centre with Powerful Conversations on Family, Silence and Healing

Just at the beginning of Detty December, the stage of the Agip Hall, MUSON Centre, Lagos came alive with the stirring production of All and …None. This evocative stage play delivered two unforgettable performances on December 14, 2025 (2pm and 6pm).

From its opening scene to the final bow, All and … None unfolded as a haunting yet hopeful exploration of love and loss, commitment and silence, presence and absence. Set against the everyday realities of duty, trauma, online sexual extortion, and unanswered questions, the play courageously unpacked the quiet tensions and unspoken emotions that shape families.

At its core, the story asked timeless questions: What truly holds a family together? And what silently pulls it apart?

The production was a collaboration between HELENA FREY LIMITED, a human capital development company focused on amplifying human potential, and YOUNG AND GIFTED ACADEMY, an empowerment initiative nurturing Nigerian youth through the creative arts. Together, both organisations leveraged theatre as a transformative tool to entertain, educate and spark meaningful conversations within the most influential unit of society: the family.

The audience response was immediate and deeply emotional. Laughter rippled through the hall in lighter moments, while tears followed scenes of raw vulnerability. After the curtains closed, conversations lingered. Viewers debated responsibility and reflection: Should the blame lie with parents, children, society or fate?

According to Playwright and Director, Mr. Joseph Eze, the reactions were exactly what was intended. “Powerful theatre refuses easy answers,” he noted. “It invites personal reckoning.”
A particularly striking highlight was the strong presence of students at the 2pm performance.

Representatives from Queens College Lagos, King’s College Lagos, Holy Child College and Foster Prime School attended. For many, it was their first encounter with live theatre of such depth.
“It felt like our own homes were on stage,” one student shared. Another remarked, “It made me think about how my choices today can affect my future family.”

Parents and educators echoed similar sentiments, describing the production as honest, uncomfortable and deeply healing.

Beyond its emotional narrative, the show delivered a rich sensory experience. Dynamic dance sequences and evocative music heightened the storytelling. The audience was thrilled by the daring acrobatic display of Cartoon Boiz, a dramatic contortion crew of three brothers whose performance left viewers breathless. MC Smart brought comic relief, balancing intensity with humour, while Afro-gospel sensation Gaise Baba closed the evening with a high-energy performance of his hit song “No Turning Back,” leaving the audience uplifted.

Mrs. Amauche Chidozie, CEO of HELENA FREY LIMITED, emphasised the broader vision behind the production. “Seeing people argue, reflect and connect their own family members to the characters shows impact beyond applause,” she said.

The production was supported by socially responsible partners led by BLUE GATE as Platinum Sponsor. Other supporting brands included Green Life Pharmaceutical Limited, Elan Hair Products, Access Bank, Apple Cosmetics, Aivuore Couture, AVIV Hair, Cosmo Cosmetics, Green Giants Multi Resources, T.A.W.L, Feedback From The Future, Cynvic Medical Consultants Hospital, Awka and New Berries Park, Enugu.
Exciting raffle draws and an electrifying afterparty curated by Miss Adaobi Chidozie, Brand and Media Executive of HELENA FREY LIMITED, ensured that Detty December began “The Theatre Way.”
As applause faded, one thing became clear: “All and …None” has set a new standard for meaningful Nigerian theatre, one that challenges, heals and inspires across generations.
