BHLA Partners Lagos State Govt to Empower Over 1,000 Young Creatives atYouth in Creativity 1.0
Lagos witnessed a powerful celebration of youth creativity as Youth in Creativity 1.0, a CSR initiative of the Black History and Lifestyle Awards (BHLA), took centre stage at the iconic Yaba College of Technology.
The event which was on 3rd December 2025, marked a remarkable partnership between BHLA Founder, Mrs. Eziada Folashade Balogun, and the Lagos State Government, uniting private sector vision with public sector support to create real opportunities for young people across the state.
In a statement, it was noted that the event was expertly hosted by renowned media personality, Layole Oyatogun, whose engaging presence and dynamic energy ensured a seamless and inspiring experience for all participants and guests.
The statement also noted that from the moment the gates opened, the hall buzzed with energy. Over 1,000 young creatives filled the space, eager to learn, connect, and showcase their talents.
The statement remarked that the conversations sparked, cameras flashed, and the atmosphere was alive with anticipation for a generation ready to lead, innovate, and make a meaningful impact.
Representing the Lagos State Government, Chief of Staff, Mr. Tayo Akinmade Ayinde; and Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mr. Mobolaji Ogunlende; addressed the audience with messages of encouragement and actionable guidance.
Their presence emphasized the government’s dedication to nurturing talent and providing pathways for youth empowerment.
Adding to this, Executive Chairman of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area, Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo, pledged direct support to young entrepreneurs, announcing that selected participants would have their businesses formally registered for free, providing a solid foundation for transforming creative ideas into structured, sustainable enterprises.
The event’s energy shifted from inspiration to practical empowerment as participants engaged in masterclasses and hands-on Creative Labs, exploring fashion design, digital content creation, photography, makeup artistry, and hairstyling. Leading creatives – Bimpe Onakoya; Ugochukwu George Igbokwe; Emmy Kasbit; Kid Baby; Anita Asianya; Tope Adenola; Tolu Arogunmati; Gift Vincent; Ololade Amina Afolabi-Borogun; and Omosalewa Ogunnowo, amongst others shared their journeys of triumph, practical wisdom, and industry insights, offering guidance on navigating the creative world while fostering resilience and innovation.
Beyond inspiration, Youth in Creativity 1.0 delivered tangible empowerment. Participants received sewing machines for fashion creatives, smartphones for content creators, curated makeup kits for aspiring makeup artists, and professional hair-styling tools, equipping them with resources to transform their passions into sustainable careers.
The excitement, gratitude, and applause from the participants underscored the impact of this initiative.
For every young creative in attendance, December 3rd, 2025, will be remembered as a day of growth, opportunity, and empowerment a day when skills were sharpened, possibilities expanded, and the future of Lagos’ youth shone brighter than ever, thanks to the collaboration between BHLA, Mrs. Eziada Folashade Balogun, and the Lagos State Government.
