The Women in Maritime and Energy (WIME) Awards Board of Trustees, led by Dr. Chizoba Anyika, has congratulated Nigeria’s maritime community on the country’s re-election into Category C of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), hailing it as a reflection of Nigeria’s growing leadership and commitment to global maritime governance.

Dr. Anyika, speaking on behalf of the WIME Board of Trustees, applauds the dedication and professionalism that made this victory possible. She notes that Nigeria’s re-election reinforces the country’s voice in shaping international maritime policies while advancing safety, security, and sustainable use of the oceans.
