Massive Music Foundation Hosts Transformative DJ & Creative Workshop
By Wale Oloworekende
The Massive Music Foundation (MMF), in partnership with The Vibes DJ Academy, has concluded its 1-Day DJ & Creative Workshop in Lagos State. The workshop was designed as a developmental training experience for individuals who applied for the Foundation’s 2025 Scholarship Program was held November 25, 2025 at The Vibes DJ Academy HQ, 5C Zainab Street, Medina Estate, Gbagada, Lagos State.
Earlier this month, MMF announced five scholarship winners from a talented pool of young creatives, and the workshop brought together both the selected winners and other shortlisted applicants for an immersive day of mentorship and skill-building.
The training was led by OnlyOneMassive (Ayodeji Pius Adetiloye), with additional facilitation from respected industry figures including ProperDJ, DJ Gbolavibes, Shoboy, and others who contributed to the various technical and creative segments of the workshop.
Together, the facilitators delivered a comprehensive introduction to professional DJing, covering beatmatching, cueing, transitions, EQ blending, harmonic mixing, scratching fundamentals, and music library organization.
Visuals from the event highlight a vibrant and engaging classroom atmosphere: students practicing on Pioneer DJ equipment, interactive group demonstrations, focused learning sessions inside The Vibes DJ Academy studio, and one-on-one coaching moments between facilitators and participants. For many attendees, the workshop provided their first hands-on experience with industry-standard gear and direct access to practicing professionals.
Reflecting on the initiative, OnlyOneMassive said , “Even though only five applicants could be selected for the scholarship, everyone who stepped forward showed passion and potential. This workshop was our way of ensuring that every applicant receives guidance, support, and a clearer path. The Massive Music Foundation exists to empower creative futures, and today reflects that mission.”
In addition to technical DJ training, the workshop explored branding, career development, networking, and the business of DJing—critical components for any emerging creative seeking long-term growth. Participants described the workshop as inspiring, practical, and pivotal to understanding the realities of building a creative career.
The scholarship winners are now preparing to begin their structured training at The Vibes DJ Academy Lagos. The workshop marks an important milestone in MMF’s broader efforts to support emerging talent, democratize creative education, and nurture the next generation of DJs, producers, and music innovators across Africa.
