Renowned Financial Expert, Kunemofa Asu Bags Honorary Doctorate Degree

A top financial expert and the Director of Finance and Supply of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Kunemofa Asu has been conferred with the Honorary Doctorate Degree on Leadership and Financial Management.

The prestigious honour from the American Management University California USA was conferred on her at the just concluded 15th Peace Achievers Award 2025.

The Honorary Degree by the American University was part of the partnership deal with the Peace Ambassador Agency, organizers of the Peace Achievers International Award.

A Fellow of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), Asu also maintains active membership in several other distinguished organizations, including the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), the Association of Chartered Certified System Accountants, Institute of Strategic Management, Nigeria (ISMN), the Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Risk Management Institute and others.

Her recent recognition is in addition to her recent recognition as one of the 100 Most Notable Peace Icons in Africa for her significant contributions and ongoing commitment to public service.

She has equally undergone several professional trainings both within and outside Nigeria. Some of such high-level executive and management programmes include Corporate Governance and Leadership at the Metropolitan School of Business and Management (UK), Leadership and Corporate Governance Programme at the Lagos Business School, Executive Leadership Development Programme on Building Effective Leadership for Excellent Performance and Sustainable Success in Dubai, UAE among others.

It is on the ground of these notable professional exploits and others that she was also honoured with award of excellence in Public Service and Financial Management at the 15th Peace Achievers Award 2025.

The Project Director of Peace Ambassador Agency, Amb. Kingsley Amafibe said this event which coincided with the 15th anniversary of the Peace Achievers International Conference and Awards presented an opportunity to celebrate a decade and half of promoting peace, advocacy for change in Nigeria and consistent support for national unity.

Other personalities honoured include, Principal partner, Bosslady Law Chamber, Barr. Orbby Agwuncha, CEO, One Percent International, Ambassador Stephanie Nnadi, Dune Group CEO, Rivervalley Group of Companies Republic of Zimbabwe, Her Excellency, Amb. Prof. Smelly Dube and others.

Meanwhile, Asu’s friends and associates have congratulated her on the big feat, wishing her more honour and impact as she continues to stand out as a shinning star, and inspiring younger generation.
