…as accolades pour in for the renowned FIFA-licensed agent

It is a year of double honour for renowned FIFA-licensed agent, Dr Drew Uyi, after winning two prestigious awards in 2025, to further solidifying his status as one of Africa’s most influential figures in sports management and athlete branding.

Dr Uyi was honoured at the maiden edition of the Nigerian UK Sports Awards (NUKSAward), which held at Home House, Marylebone, London, in September, and again at the France-Nigeria Sports Award, in recognition of his groundbreaking contributions to the global sports industry.

At the Nigerian UK Sports Awards, themed ‘Championing Dreams: A Night of Legacy and Hope,’ Dr Uyi was among distinguished personalities recognised across 36 categories. The event celebrated excellence in sport, culture, philanthropy, and community development while also serving as a gala and fundraiser to support underprivileged athletes with resources and opportunities to achieve their dreams.

Dr Uyi was singled out for his extraordinary contributions to sports development both locally and internationally, as well as his unwavering commitment to giving back to humanity.

In his acceptance speech, he expressed gratitude to the organisers, saying, “First and foremost, thanks for this award. I wasn’t expecting this, but I appreciate it so much.”

He also emphasised the importance of culture, support, and positivity, adding, “We need to represent the culture. We need to give back. This award is important to me because it is about positive change. If we don’t do it, nobody will do it for us.”

Following that recognition in London, Dr Uyi was again celebrated at the France-Nigeria Sports Award in Paris, France, where he received a special “Recognition for Contribution in Athlete Branding.” The award, which celebrates excellence and impact in sports and related industries, acknowledged his innovative work in elevating the global visibility and commercial value of African athletes.

Meanwhile, the world has been sending a flurry of congratulatory messages to Dr Uyi on Instagram, following the recognition of his impact and value to the global football community and the prestige he brings to athletes of African origin at the event in France.
