U.S. Ambassador Lauds Servelead Group’s Community Impact, Supports Founder’s Vision
The United States Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency Richard Mills, has commended the Servelead Group of Companies for its significant contributions to community development and tech-enabled social entrepreneurship across Nigeria.
The Ambassador’s commendation came during a high-profile visit to the Group’s facilities on Thursday, a move described by observers as a strong endorsement of its people-centric business model.
During the tour, the founder of the Group of Companies, Mr. Joledo Oyewole, hosted Ambassador Mills and described the visions behind each company founded, which spans agriculture, logistics, technology, security, education, and media.
Ambassador Mills expressed particular admiration for two key initiatives: the innovative ‘RescueTap App’, a 360° safety and security solution, and the ‘Built With Belief Schools’ in rural Kaduna, which have provided scholarships to over 260 children in the last four years.
The Mandela Washington Fellowship, a flagship initiative of the U.S. Government, continues to empower young African leaders with skills, networks, and opportunities to drive change in their communities. Oye’s journey from his selection as a top African leader to attend the Fellowship to building Servelead is a testament to how the program is not only shaping individuals but also creating impact across the world.
In his remarks, Ambassador Mills highlighted the uniqueness of Servelead’s work, stating that it serves as a powerful model for how tech-enabled businesses can drive sustainable development.
Servelead Global, the parent company, has given rise to several impactful enterprises, including Laicos Farms, Timewise Logistics, Servelead Humanitarian, Respectech HR, and the multimedia firm, Aidos Global. Collectively, these entities are reported to have reached hundreds of thousands of Nigerians.
Speaking on the milestone visit, the Founder and visionary of the Group, Mr. Oyewole Joledo, reflected on the journey, stating that the organisation has now come full circle.
“Yes, hundreds of thousands of lives have been impacted, but for us, the work is only just beginning,” Joledo said. “We have finally come full circle, and we can boldly say: now, the dream has become the deed.”
The Group also acknowledged the crucial support from its long-term partners, the U.S. Mission in Nigeria and the Social Good Fund in the USA, for their instrumental role in facilitating partnerships and extending the company’s reach. The CEOs of each company founded were on hand to also grace the visit.
The visit underscores a growing recognition of the pivotal role tech-enabled social enterprises play in nation-building and signals a continued strengthening of bilateral support for initiatives that empower communities and inspire sustainable development across Africa.
