DMT, GLO Sign Strategic MoU to Boost Telecommunications Infrastructure in Delta State
Disc Media & Telecoms Limited (DMT), a leading provider of fixed internet and telephony services in Delta State, and Globacom Limited (GLO), Nigeria’s foremost indigenous telecommunications company, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a strategic partnership aimed at improving broadband internet access and telecommunications services in Delta State.
The MoU was signed on 8th September this year at the GLO Enterprise Office in Victoria Island area of Lagos.
It outlines a collaborative framework through which both companies will leverage each other’s infrastructure to deliver enhanced connectivity and internet services to residents, businesses, and institutions across the region.
“This partnership underscores our shared vision to deepen broadband penetration and digital inclusion across Nigeria, starting with Delta State,” says Barr. Andrew Odum (SAN), Board Chairman Disc Media & Telecoms Limited.
Speaking on the partnership, the Managing Director of DMT, Mr. Harold Monu, stated: “This MoU represents a major step forward in our commitment to building a digitally empowered Delta State.
“By combining DMT’s robust metro fiber infrastructure with GLO’s national backbone and service capabilities, we are creating a win-win scenario — not just for our companies, but for the people and businesses that depend on reliable connectivity. We believe this collaboration will lay the groundwork for long-term growth, innovation, and service excellence.”
The Enterprise Business Group Head of Department, Globacom, Mr. Lawrence Odediran, reiterated Globacom’s commitment to partnerships that drive Nigeria’s digital future.
“Our collaboration with DMT aligns with our mission to extend high-quality broadband and other services to underserved areas using shared infrastructure.”
He emphasised that the MoU allows them to jointly accelerate last-mile connectivity in Delta State while ensuring cost-efficiency, network reliability, and excellent customer experience.
Both parties have also expressed commitment to enter into definitive service agreements. These agreements will define commercial terms, service levels, and responsibilities for network operations and customer service.
This collaboration is designed to accelerate digital infrastructure development, reduce redundancy, and drive cost-effective connectivity solutions.
The parties will also engage in joint marketing and technical planning where beneficial, with the goal of delivering value to customers and communities alike.
