Benue Newly Inaugurated Commissioners Get Portfolios

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has assigned positions to recently inaugurated Commissioners in Benue State, telling the new commissioners to serve with dedicated and integrity while urging the retained ones to redouble their efforts and commitment for the collective progress of the state.

Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sir Tersoo Kula, who announced the portfolios to newsmen at the end of the State EXCO meeting on Thursday said former Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr. Ortese Yanmar, is now Commissioner for Cooperative and Rural Development.

Dr. Frederick Ikyaan who was the Commissioner for Education and Knowledge Management in the dissolved cabinet now takes charge of Lands, while Mr. Michael Oglegba retains the Finance portfolio.

Hon. Tiza Isaac Imojime who was the Commissioner for Works now takes charge of the Youth, Sports, and Creativity Ministry, while Alumo Orpin is the Commissioner for Industry, Trade, and Investment.

Hon. Ugwu Odoh is the commissioner for Water Resources, Environment, and Climate Change, Hon. Kunde Aondowase is to superintend as commissioner for Humanitarian and Disaster Management with Kwaghgba Amande overseeing ICT and Digital Economy.

Others include: Hon. Joseph Ter Jir, Commissioner for Power and Renewable Energy, Hon. James Dwem, Commissioner for Science and Technology, Dr. Ornguga Yangien takes charge as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Hon. Theresa Odachi Ikwue is commissioner for Women Affairs, Dr. Peter Oboh Egbodo is the commissioner for Information and Orientation.

Dr. Benjamin Ashaver is Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Dr. Adamu Margaret Ijaguwa is to handle Education and Knowledge Management, 

Hon. Dennis Iyaighgba is Commissioner for Marine and Blue Economy, and Dr. Paul Ejeh Ogwuche is in charge of Health and Human Services.

Alia told the commissioners to justify the confidence reposed in them by working in synergy with his administration, even as he called on the media and the general public to extend maximum cooperation to the new appointees in order to ensure the success of their assignments.
