I’m a Better Version of Myself – Hon. Ziphion

The Liaison Director for MDAs and Security Agencies in Plateau State, Hon. Ziphion Chrysanthus, has credited his transformation into “a better version” of himself to the intensive studies, training, and skills he acquired at the National Defence College (NDC), Abuja.

Hon. Ziphion made this known at a reception in his honour at the Nicon Luxury Hotel, Abuja, following his successful completion of the Higher Management of Defence and Strategic Course 33 and graduation from the prestigious National Defence college, Nigeria.

According to him, the rigorous training equipped him with the analytical capacity and strategic foresight required to operate effectively in a complex and dynamic environment. He pledged to deploy his wealth of knowledge and experience in service to the people of Plateau State and the nation at large.

Today, I’m a better version of myself. I’m so happy and excited. God has used the College to transform my life, helping me understand what is required at the strategic level so I can operate efficiently with any responsibility entrusted to me,” he said.

In an emotional address to colleagues, fellow Course 33 graduands, Plateau State officials, family, and friends, and well-wishers, Hon. Ziphion expressed gratitude for the overwhelming show of love and described his journey as a testimony of God’s grace.

The National Defence College is Nigeria’s apex military training institution for senior officers of the Armed Forces and is globally recognized as a Centre of Excellence in strategic-level training, especially for peace support operations. While it has historically admitted officers from the military, paramilitary, federal ministries, and agencies, no state government official had ever enrolled—let alone graduated—until Hon. Ziphion blazed the trail.

At the graduation ceremony held on August 22, 2025, he not only completed the rigorous programme but distinguished himself with remarkable performance, thereby setting a new benchmark for state-level engagement in national and global security discourse.

A proud son of Plateau State, Hon. Ziphion currently serves as Liaison Director for MDAs and Security Agencies in the Plateau State Government, in the Abuja LiaisonDirectorate. Beyond his official duties, he is widely respected as a philanthropist, community leader, and founder of the Ziphion Chrysanthus Foundation, a non-profit organization championing healthcare outreach, education support, youth empowerment, and humanitarian interventions across underserved communities.

In his remarks, Hon. Ziphion extended profound gratitude to the Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, for his unwavering support, as well as to all individuals and institutions who contributed to his success.

With this historic accomplishment, Hon. Ziphion has set a powerful precedent for future state-level leaders to embrace advanced strategic training, effectively bridging the gap between governance and national security in Nigeria’s democratic journey.
